IFR AIR LAW

This theory course covers the AC 61 Subject 52 - IFR Air Law (Aeroplane and Helicopter) syllabus for New Zealand pilots. Aviation Services Ltd - ASL (a division of Aspeq Ltd) is contracted by the NZ CAA to conduct the examinations. This subject includes Privileges and Limitations,  Documentation and Aircraft Maintenance, and General Operating Requirements (Part 91). All Sections have practice questions that provide instant feedback and we have Sample Test papers that you can practice.

IFR FLIGHT NAVIGATION

This theory course covers the AC 61 Subject 54 - IFR Navigation syllabus for New Zealand pilots. Sections include Chart Reading , Enroute Diversion Calculations, and GNSS Global Navigation Satellite Systems.

Each section of the syllabus can be reviewed in any order - no requirement to complete parts of the course or finish exams before you can move on. All Sections have practice questions that provide instant feedback and we have Sample Test papers that you can practice.

IFR INSTRUMENT & NAVIGATION AIDS

This theory course covers the AC 61 Subject 56 - IFR Instrument & Flight Navigation Aids syllabus for New Zealand pilots. Sections include Gyroscopic Instruments, Radio Priciples, and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Each section of the syllabus can be reviewed in any order - no requirement to complete parts of the course or finish exams before you can move on. All Sections have practice questions that provide instant feedback, and we have Sample Test papers that you can practice.

IFR PPL IR OPERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE

This theory course covers the new AC 61 Subject 53 - IR Operational Knowledge syllabus for New Zealand pilots. This subject and exam is for PPL holders who wish to get an instrument rating . It covers relevant Meteorology and Human Factors syllabus items and replaces the CPL Meteorology and CPL Human Factors exams for PPL licence holders. For CPL holders, the Meteorology and Human Factors CPL training and examinations required by the rules is acceptable towards the issue of an instrument rating.

IFR METEROLOGY

We have removed this course as the NZCAA have changed the requirements for instrument rating exam credits. The new criteria is if a pilot holds a CPL licence then this covers the knowledge requirement for Meteorology. If you don't hold a CPL licence then you will need to sit the IR OPERATONAL KNOWLEDGE exam.

 

Our new course for this exam is IR Operational Knowledge.

IFR HUMAN FACTORS

We have removed this course as the NZCAA have changed the requirements for instrument rating exam credits. The new criteria is if a pilot holds a CPL licence then this covers the knowledge requirement for Meteorology. If you don't hold a CPL licence then you will need to sit the IR OPERATONAL KNOWLEDGE exam.
