AVIATION
Aviation Security Awareness
This NZCAA approved course has been developed for staff serving Airline Operations (Part 125, 121 Operations). It is applicable to any person holding an Aviation Security Card. This course covers an employees responsibility as an Avsec Card Holder, Regulatory requirements and actions to be taken in the event of a security incident. Once completed, the course is valid for three years. You should allow at least 2 hours to complete the course and the final exam.

Dangerous Goods Training
The NZCAA no longer approve our Web Based Training courses for DG certification in NZ. However, the rest of the South Pacific are still happy to train and certify aviation staff using web based training. This course is suitable for Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu. The Fiji DG course is in another section. We still offer the course in NZ for trainees as an awareness course for people who want to obtain the knowledge required to transport dangerous goods on aircraft. You should allow at least 3 hours for this course. An exam is available once you have read through the course to test your understanding of the subject. We will not certify NZ operators.

Human Factors/CRM Aircrew
Applicable to both Flight and Cabin crew, this course covers the knowledge requirements for Human Factors / Crew Resource Management training as required in the AC 121-4 syllabus. This course combines our CRM and Human Factors in to one course. It is designed to enhance Aircrew Non Technicl Skills (NTS) which include Communication, Teamwork, Fatigue , Workload Management, and Threat and Error Management (TEM). If you are a Captain or are doing a Command Upgrade then select the "Captain" course when enrolling. Allow 3 hours for this course.

Human Factors/CRM Ground Staff
Applicable to ground staff who are working to support an Aircraft Operation It is designed to enhance Employees awareness of the Human Factors which could cause or contribute towards incidents, while at the same time providing the tools to recognise and manage threats, and to develop strategies to prevent and manage errors and mistakes. Trainees should allow 2 hours for this course.

Human Factors/CRM Maintenance
A very comprehensive course ideally suited for maintenance staff as an introduction to Human Factors or for those wanting to refresh their knowledge. Readers of the course will learn the importance of Human Factor training to the industry, the relationship between Incidents and Human Factors (Errors) and appreciate the ‘Murphy’s Law’ aspect. It covers human capabilities and limitations in the workplace. Students should allow at least 3-4 hours for this course.

Performance Based Navigation (PBN)
GNSS theory is now covered in the Instrument Rating syllabus and exams. In addition to the GNSS rating endorsement on an Instrument Rating, a PBN endorsement is required based on the PBN specification for aircraft operations - RNP 1 and 2, RNP APCH, or RNP APCH – AR. This course meets the requirements set in the NZ CAA Advisory Circular AC61-17 Appendix III - PBN Knowledge. We have exams to match your training requirements, with certificates and exam feedback (KDR). We also have a brief summary of the operation of some GPS units.Our Part 141 training partner Ardmore Flying School provides the assessment and certification.

NDB/ADF Knowledge
After a re-write of the Instrument Rating course syllabus the ADF/NDB knowledge was removed as subject knowledge. Pilots can still get an ADF/NDB endorsement on their Instrument Rating after gaining the knowledge and demonstrating skill by passing a flight examiner test. This course covers AC61 - 17 Appendix IV ADF/NDB Theory Course Syllabus. After successful completion we will provide you with a certificate and exam feedback to present to the flight examiner. This course and exam is conducted by Ardmore Flying School, a Part 141 Training provider.

Noise Abatement Awareness Fixed Wing/Helicopter
This course was developed to meet the Department of Conservation requirements, and is approved by the Department of Conservation for aircraft operation to complete a “Noise Awareness’ course prior to being granted a concession to fly in ‘Noise Sensitive Areas’ under DOC control. This course covers Fixed wing and helicopter operations with data gained from aircraft manufacturers. This course will take 1.5 hours to complete.

Extended Diversion Time Operations
This course has been developed for Operators who have pilots either new to Extended Range Operations, or those requiring refresher training. The syllabus complies with NZCAA AC 121 -1 and is an approved CAA training course under the Ardmore Flying School Part 141 Training certificate. On completion the trainee will have an understanding of Extended Diversion Time Operations including Operator approvals required through to the Piloting aspects of Flight Planning and Alternate requirements, Pre and In-Flight Procedures, as well as Contingency Procedures. You should allow 2 hours to complete both the course and the final exam.

RVSM/RNP
This course is designed for those pilots preparing to operate into RVSM and RNP airspace. It covers a short History of the development of RVSM and RNP, Operational and Regulatory Requirements and contingency procedures for these airspaces. Assuming that at this stage in his or her career the reader is trained either in Airline Operations or High performance aircraft the course should take approximately 1hr 15
minutes to complete.

South Pacific Airport Briefs
The airport briefs contain important information specific to the applicable Port. Typically the brief will contain information relating to Local Geography, Climate, Regulatory Requirements, Airspace, Approach and Departure Procedures and any specific Flight Planning requirements. These courses are often used to form part of the pre-flight planning brief. Time for each brief varies between 30 minutes to an hour.
We currently have briefs for the following airports: Apia, Cairns, Canberra, Dunedin, Hobart, Honiara, Nadi, Norfolk Island, Pago Pago, Papeete, Port Moresby, Port Vila, Queenstown, Rarotonga, Sydney, Tonga, Tontouta, Townsville and Wellington.
